Our Intensive-Outpatient Program

Our IOP program is a 24-week intensive program that features 8 hours of therapy per week including: 2 hours of psycho-education/art therapy, 2 hours of therapeutic meals, 4 hours of group therapy, including private individual meetings with parents or partners at intervals as the client is ready. This intensive group treatment program is designed for individuals who require additional care for eating disorders beyond the typical 1 to 3 hours of individual and group therapy per week. The program can be completed while continuing work or school.

Group Therapy

Group therapy hours are devoted to eating disorder recovery topics, in addition to individual and interpersonal growth. We focus on issues such as eating, body image, relationships, and wellness.

Time Commitment

Clients complete 24 weeks of the Chrysalis program in 2 twelve-week segments. At the end of the 24-week treatment, clients step down to individual therapy and meetings with the dietitian as needed.

Therapeutic Meals

At each meeting, we gather at our dinning table to share a therapeutic meal. Therapeutic meals are intended to assist individuals in learning and practicing healthy new eating behaviors. We ask each member to bring their own meal to encourage new food choice patterns. We want these choices to be made outside of our walls to create change in one's natural setting.

Psychoeducational classes include:

Nutrition and meal planning
Body image
Communication of boundaries
Conflict resolution
Stress reduction
And self-care

Our education modules are housed inside a journal designed to be a tool after you graduate from our program.
